John started off 2018 the best possible way. He proposed on New Years Day! We were spending the holiday at our favorite place in the entire world – my family ranch!

On the morning of the 1st, John asked me to go on a walk before breakfast. John, Shiner (our pup) and I were walking around the lake when he started leading me towards a bench we had built together a few months before. As we approached the bench that I thought was just a fun weekend project, I realized he had carved “Will you marry me? 1-1-18” into the wood. When he saw me reading the words he’d carved, he got down on to one knee and forever changed my life for the better.

Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, both of our families came out from hiding! They had all traveled many miles to celebrate alongside us! It was the perfect beginning to a lifetime together! Family means the world to both of us, so it was the biggest blessing to have them by our side on such an unforgettable day.

After all the special memories shared at the ranch together, it was the obvious pick for our venue. The bench will stand there as a reminder of where our life together began. I truly cannot wait to marry John there in November 2018!
